TURKISH CINEMA IN EUROPE
The London Turkish
Film Festival is convening a one-day panel discussion, bringing
together film directors, producers and film critics from Turkey
with writers and critics from the British film and media scene.
The panel 'New
Turkish Cinema in Europe' seeks to introduce fresh perspectives
on Turkish cinema, introducing new films from Turkey to the
moving image establishment in Britain.
The aim of the
panel is to raise awareness in Britain about the new generation
of Turkish films, and to draw attention to what is new and
different in contemporary Turkish cinema.
The panel is organised
by the London Turkish Film Festival, in collaboration with
the Transcultural Research Unit at Goldsmiths College.
Speakers include
film directors from Turkey, such as Umit Unal, Ezel Akay,
Omer Vargi and Dervis Zaim, actors and actresses from Turkey,
such as Lale Mansur, film critics, film promoters, producers,
and also film writers and distributors from the UK.
