TICKET PRICE INCREASE
We regret that all our ticket prices are going up by 50p on Friday 10 August, to help the Rio to cover its costs. This is the first increase since August 2005. Life as an independent, single screen cinema isn't getting any easier. As you may know, the Rio is a registered charity run by a voluntary Board of Directors and an enthusiastic and committed staff. We don't have the corporate resources or choices of the multiplexes, and costs are ever increasing. Ticket sales have to pay our running costs. Although we are a community cinema, we don't receive any grants to subsidise our overheads. We value the support we get from our regulars and Friends - we wouldn't be here if it weren't for you. In putting up our ticket prices we're not trying to exploit you, but only trying to ensure the Rio's survival and development in an increasingly challenging environment. We've got a great programme lined up for the summer and autumn, so do please keep coming to the Rio. And if you would like to get more involved, please contact: charles@riocinema.org.uk

CHOOSE A LATE NIGHT SHOW
Fancy screening a film of your choice at the Rio on a Friday or Saturday night? Friends of the Rio can select a film of their choice (subject to availability) for a Friday or Saturday late night show (around 11.30pm) on a date of their choice. The cost is £250 (including VAT) which includes admission for up to 50 guests. The screening will also be open to the public, at our regular late night admission price of £6.50.
