SATURDAY MORNING PICTURE CLUB

Membership is free. Members have their membership cards stamped on each visit and get free admittance after every 10 visits and a free poster after every 25 visits. Parents, please note: children under the age of five years must be accompanied by an adult throughout the performance. You are welcome to drop off older children at the start of the film and return to pick them up at the end. Doors open at 10.30am and the FILM starts at 11.00am sharp. The length of the films varies – please check the finish times listed below. Please note: unaccompanied adults will not be admitted.

Four members of a space station are exposed to a cosmic radiation which transforms their DNA. They soon realise that they’ve gained the ability to transform themselves: Reed can stretch his body like chewing-gum; Susan turns invisible while Johnny becomes a Human Torch and Ben looks like a walking rock with super-human strength. Back on Earth, they use their powers to defeat the plans of megalomaniac Dr. von Doom, who wants to use the properties of the star storm and the powers of the Fantastic Four for his own purposes.

On his way home in the middle of a storm, Nolan Walsh rescues a baby zebra accidentally left behind by a circus and brings him home. His daughter, Channing, finds him so cute that she eventually convinces her dad to keep him. Stripes, as the little zebra is now called, is soon introduced to the rest of the farm dwellers, and settles among the other animals. But he spends his time dreaming of the racetracks on the border of the farm, where prestigious horses train daily. If only he could get on the tracks, he would beat them all. The only problem is that Stripes hasn’t realised yet he’s not a horse.

A beautifully animated story set in Italy in the 1930s, where the greatest fighter ace is... a pig. High above the clouds, he and Donald Curtis, his daredevil arch rival, compete for glory. As you can expect from Miyazaki, the animation is fantastic with an astounding level of detail, especially in the flying sequences. A real treat for the entire family.
