SPRING INTO FILM

February and March sees the start of an exciting programme of special activities, courtesy of funding support from the London Borough of Hackney's Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and Cultural Forum.

Tickets for the Saturday Morning Picture Club and Tuesday Playcentre Matinee are reduced to £1 for children and £2 for adults, and admission will be free for the Over ‘60s to the monthly Classic Matinee starting with LADIES IN LAVENDER on Wednesday 9 February at 2.30pm. These price reductions will apply for a trial period until the end of March but we hope to be able to maintain them beyond that.

Amongst the activities on offer are:

• Schools screenings for local Primary and Secondary Schools.

• A Shadow Puppets Filmmaking workshop for children during the half term holiday.

• A Short Film course for Turkish-speaking adults organised by Balik Arts.

• A Video Production course for Kurdish young people organised by the Kurdish Film Festival Organising Committee.

• A series of evening workshops on Black Visual Artists and Film Makers to be lead by Peter Ashan.

• In-school media workshops with the Rio tape Slide tutor, Rob Rainbow.

Many of these activities will be free for Hackney residents.
